Our expansive pre-war factory in Chicago is a creative hub. Skilled, local craftsmanship drives in-house manufacturing and assembly alongside our operations. By collaborating closely throughout the building process, our product designers develop proprietary solutions and create pioneering products. Sabin's production approach not only ensures shorter lead times compared to industry standards but also guarantees unparalleled quality and precision.
Our namesake, the sabin (pronounced sey·bin), is a unit of measurement for sound absorption per square foot. With NRC ratings over 0.95, our products absorb up to 95% of sound energy, neutralizing distractions in spaces with open concepts, hard surfaces, or high capacity. We ensure interiors remain comfortable and bright without compromising on design.

We build with post-consumer recyced PET felt, a powerful acoustic absorber, that’s both SCS™ and OEKO-TEX® certified. Each piece is meticulously sewn with precision, using techniques rarely seen in the industry. Every stitch is not only functional but also enhances the aesthetic, making our products one-of-a-kind.

In every step of product refinement, we are careful to keep in mind the scoping vision and application. This allows us to create acoustic + lighting solutions in a cloud, pendant, baffling, or wall application that fit the Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP) and contractor needs. We provide clear installation guides, IES and acoustic performance data, and special care if a design consultation is desired.

Flexibility is top of mind throughout our process. Sabin product architecture is intentionally based on geometrically stable and fundamental forms that are meant to be abstracted and combined. Each unit has a design language that expands into active and/or passive forms. Our scalable sizes, lighting engines, and mounting options invite endless possibilities. We want to help designers create ecosystems of acoustic clarity and lighting performance.

We know we have landed on a successful product when it breaks through multiple “impossible” or never-before-seen characteristics in the acoustic lighting landscape.
For example, Block is only possible because of our proprietary, patent pending G, Z, and C folds, and our team was able to discover a more efficient way to engineer the large radii on Linear Standard 9 and Quad. It’s an exciting moment for our team because we know it’s an exciting moment for our industry—and our world.
